
The death toll of fresh clashes in Lebanon's northern port city of Tripoli on Saturday rose to two, while ten people were injured, according to the official National News Agency. Earlier in the day, clashes between the two rival Sunni neighborhood of Bab El Tebbaneh and mostly Alawite neighborhood of Jabal Mohsen erupted in Tripoli. The NNA said that two people, including a seven-year-old boy, were killed by sniper fire in the areas of al-Tabbaneh and al- Zahriyeh while ten others, including three soldiers, were injured. The clashes came following an attack on a Jabal Mohsen resident who was shot in his feet in the Bab El Tebbaneh neighborhood. After that, snipers in the rival districts became active, according to the LBCI TV. Chaos and fear spread among local citizens, as many shops and schools were closed.
