Death toll rises to 6 in Lebanon\'s Tripoli

The death toll in the renewed rounds of fighting in Lebanon\'s northern city of Tripoli rose to six as of Monday afternoon, following a cautious calm in the morning, a local Lebanese security official told Xinhua. On Sunday night, renewed fighting erupted between rival neighborhoods, with light arms, machine-guns and rocket-propelled grenades being used, leaving one person dead and 14 wounded. On Monday, five more people died from sniper fire, with the number of injured rose to 38. According to the security source, \"snipers fired on anything that moved\" in Bab al-Tabbaneh, Jabal Mohsen and al-Zahrieh area, as well as the international highway that links Tripoli to Akkar district. Despite the sniper fire, there was limited traffic, while most markets, shops, schools and university campuses opened in Tripoli on Monday.
