
Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief and Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi met a host of defense ministers from Community of Sahel-Saharan States.
Sobhi met with the defense ministers from Guinea, Somalia and Djibouti along with the chief of Staff of the Libyan Army.
The meeting tackled ways of boosting partnership ties and military cooperation.
The fifth conference of the defense ministers from Community of Sahel-Saharan States will kick off here on Thursday with the participation of defense ministers and heads of delegations of 27 African countries along with a host of countries and international organizations, which are attending as an observer.
The Community of Sahel-Saharan States was created in 1998 and currently consists of 27 African countries including Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Chad, Tunisia and Togo.
Originally created for economic unity, the organization has expanded to prioritize military matters.
