Protests to condemn desecration of the Holy Qur\'an at a US base in Afghanistan have been held across the country. Protesters chanted anti-US slogans and demanded the Pakistani government to sever all relations with the United States. The US flag was also burnt in the rallies. Pakistan Sunni Tehrik staged a protest demonstration against desecration of the Holy Qur\'an in Lahore. A large number of workers participated in the protest. The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans against the American army. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) also staged a protest demonstration against desecration of the Holy Quran at a US base in Afghanistan. A large number of JUI workers participated in the protest held outside the Lahore Press Club. The protestors were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans against the US Army and Israel. Meanwhile, Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadit also staged a protest demonstration against desecration of the Holy Quran in Lahore. Large protests have also been held In Karachi, Mingora and Banu cities. The protestors flayed the United States and the NATO forces for desecrating the Holy Qur\'an in Afghanistan and threatened to wage jihad against the infidel forces if they continued to hurt the sentiments of Muslims. During the protest effigies of Barack Obama and US flags were set on fire. A protest rally was also held in Quetta to condemn the desecration of the holy Qur\'an by the US troops in Afghanistan. A large number of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers took part in the demonstration to condemn the incident that they said hurt the sentiments of Muslims. The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans \'down with America\'. The participants raised slogans against the US drone strikes and also set US flag on fire to express their anger. Addressing a conference in eastern Punjab city of Bahawalpur, JUI-F Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman strongly condemned the US policies in the region. He criticised the resolution tabled in the US Congress about the Liberation of Balochistan masses. “The six states of the US are also demanding freedom from it. If Americans can talk on the constitution of Pakistan, then we should be allowed to speak about the internal affairs of the US,” he added. Pakistan Foreign Ministry had strongly condemned the burning, stressing that such \'utterly irresponsible and reprehensible things\' should not happen again. \'On behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan, we condemn in strongest possible terms the desecration of the holy Qur\'an\' in Afghanistan,\' spokesman Abdul Basit told reporters.
