
On the sidelines of the Third Africa-Arab Summit concluded here Wednesday, Kuwait's Direct Aid Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Benin at Bayan Palace, in presence of the country's President Thomas Boni Yayi. The MoU was signed by Benin's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, Francophonie, and Beninese Diaspora Nassirou Bako Arifari and Direct Aid's Board Chairman Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Muhailan. The MoU states the Kuwaiti society is to set up and later manage a university in Benin's capital city, Porto-Novo. The university would admit students into four faculties. The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Benin Fayez Mishari Al-Jasem and the Ambassador of Benin in Kuwait, Aboudou Kabassi.
