Direct flights to resume between Tehran, Rome

Direct flights between the Iranian and Italian capitals, which were cancelled two years ago, will resume on June 5, Tehran Times daily reported on Sunday. The Tehran-to-Rome flight is scheduled at 15:30 local time on Wednesdays, and the reverse flight is scheduled at 19:20 local time on the same day. Officials of Iran Air said the flights had been cancelled two years ago due to the stoppage of fueling Iranian passenger planes in Rome, according to the daily. Since June 2010, some European countries have stopped refueling Iranian passenger planes in coordination with the U.S. sanctions against Iran, which were aimed at cutting Iran\'s access to imports of gasoline and isolating it further from the international financial system.
