
The works of the mini-commission in charge of choosing the future Prime Minister resumed its works on Saturday afternoon. Ameur Larayedh, Ennahdha party leader, does not exclude the possibility to delay the announcement of the name of the new Prime Minister; A delay that the Popular Front (FP) and the national dialogue sponsors refused, according to informed sources. For the Secretary-General of the Labour Party Hamma Hammami, the issue should be decided on Saturday. For her part, Al Joumhouri S-G Maya Jribi said that the 4 running candidates benefit from the same chances, refuting the information according to which her party would support the candidacy of Ahmed Mestiri. What is most important is to maintain consultations, Jribi said voicing the difficulty to reach an agreement on the name of the next PM. Earlier, Ennahdha Spokesman Zied Ladhari had asserted to TAP news agency his party's attachment to the candidacy of Mestiri, pointing out that the latter was an opponent to Leader Bourguiba and President Ben Ali. S-G of the Unified Democratic Patriotic party voiced astonishment of the attachment of the Ennahdha, Al Joumhouri Ettakatol to Ahmed Mestiri. The age of Mestiri can constitute a handicap which prevents him to assume his responsibilities at the head of the Prime Ministry in this delicate juncture the country is going through, Hichem Hosni (Progressive popular party) noted. According to deputy S-G of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Bouali Mbarki, in case of disagreement the quarter will reveal its position at the end of the dialogue session.
