Dozens of Palestinian residents of Shafa Amr city staged a protest on Saturday against the Israeli prosecution that issued severe penalties against seven Palestinians charged with killing an Israeli soldier who committed Shafa Amr city massacre in 2005. Protesters raised banners calling to commute the sentence on young men. The court is planned to be held on Sunday in Haifa. In August 2005, Eden Natan-Zada opened fire from his automatic rifle on Palestinian passengers en route to Shafa Amr from Haifa. He killed the bus driver, Michel Bahus, and three passengers, Nader Hayek and two sisters, Hazar Turki and Dina Turki, and wounded 20 others. During his attack, he was restrained, disarmed and beaten to death by other Palestinians on the bus as he was trying to reload to prepare for another round of shooting.
