Dozens of US parachutists injured in German exercise

Forty-seven US soldiers were injured during a parachuting exercise at a US military base in southern Germany, a newspaper reported Thursday. \"They have been well trained, but it\'s not unusual for there to be injuries with these kinds of jumps,\" a military spokeswoman told the daily Mittelbayerische Zeitung. Of those reporting injuries, 24 only had minor problems and were already back at work. However, others remained hospitalized in Regensburg. The spokeswoman said that some Polish troops had also participated in the exercise, but none of them had sustained injuries.
