The Democratic Republic of Congo has slammed a decision by Britain to renew aid to Rwanda, despite Kigali being accused of aiding rebels sowing strife inside its larger neighbour, according to dpa. Kinshasa said in a statement distributed late on Thursday that it was \'disappointed\' and \'shocked\' by London\'s move. According to British media, some 25 million dollars in aid is being restored, with half of that amount going directly to the government and the rest being tied to aid programmes. Western countries had announced cuts to aid to Rwanda after a United Nations report found that the country was aiding the Congolese M23 rebel group, which is sowing havoc in the east of the massive central African nation. Rwanda denies it is aiding the rebels. Renewing aid is \'unfortunately like a prize for military adventurism, culture of predation and massive human rights violations, in which high level Rwandan officials are involved in the DR Congo,\' the statement said.
