A man holding his three-year-old daughter hostage in Reuver, a town in the southern Dutch province Limburg, was arrested on Thursday, local Dutch media reported. Around 9 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), the man was involved in a fight with his ex-wife, who recently ended their relationship. After he shot her in her leg with a machine gun, a neighbor pulled the woman into his house. The shooter then escaped to another house and stayed there with his daughter. His ex-wife, who was shot, was brought to the hospital. Police surrounded the house of the hostage and sealed off the area, while residents were advised to stay indoors. After negotiations with the man, a SWAT team entered the house at around 2.45 p.m (0145 GMT). The man was arrested and his daughter was brought to a safe location and two dead bodies were found, according to reports.
