The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected a Turkish national\'s appeal and designated the Turkish Constitutional Court for the first time as a domestic remedy of last resort. ECHR found \'inadmissible\' an appeal by a Turkish citizen in a land confiscation case, citing a latest regulation by the Turkish parliament that gives Turkish citizens the right to individual application to the Turkish Constitutional Court. The European court gave its decision with 5 votes in favour and 2 against, saying that an individual application must be lodged with the Turkish Constitutional Court before the case can be taken to Strasbourg.
