Egypt's Interior Minister Assistant Maj. Gen. Mohamed Naguib has denied news that former president Mohammad Hosni Mubarak, jailed in a hospital in Tora Prison, had submitted a request to attend the military funeral for former vice president Maj. Gen. Omar Suleiman, scheduled to be held later today. Naguib underlined in statements to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) that the news are unfounded. Meanwhile, a private plane carrying the body of Suleiman arrived in Cairo Airport in the wee hours of Saturday, coming from the US State of Ohio. The body was received by several leaders of the general intelligence and military police. Suleiman died Thursday of a heart attack aged 76. He had been undergoing medical tests at Cleveland Clinic in the United States.
