Egypt\'s rebel campaign rejects new constitutional declaration

The Egyptian opposition Tamarod \" Rebel\" campaign which provoked nationwide protests against ousted president Mohamed Morsi, said Tuesday that it rejects a new constitutional declaration issued by the country\'s new interim president Adli Mansour. Mansour approved on Monday evening a constitutional declaration for the transitional period after the recent ouster of Morsi. The declaration includes a timeline for transferring power to a democratic civilian government. The declaration will be valid during post-Morsi transitional period, which is set to be six months, and it will end after the presidential elections are held, which were scheduled for early next year. Tamarod is a new grassroots protest movement in Egypt. Shortly before the June 30 mass protests that toppled Morsi, the movement announced that it had collected more than 22 million signatures demanding Morsi to step down and hold early presidential elections.
