The Egyptian ambassador has been summoned to Cairo for questioning after he accused Cairo’s foreign ministry of corruption. According to reports, Ambassador Mohammed Fawzi has been summoned to Egypt for investigations into documents he is said to have in his possession. Fawzi has accused the country's Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr and a number of officials of financial corruption. Fawzi made the accusations following a decision to move him to Egypt’s embassy in Iraq. However, other reports contradict the previous ones by holding that the Egyptian ambassador has denied reports of being summoned to his country. Fawzi says that the ties between Cairo and Doha have improved since his mission in Qatar.
