Egypt to import Turkish-made aerial drones

Egypt will become the first country to import Turkish-made unmanned aerial drones – called ANKAs – after signing a protocol with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Cairo last week, Turkish daily Sabah reported on Tuesday. The unmanned aerial vehicle represents Turkey\'s most significant defence project. According to Sabah, it is capable of carrying over 200 kilograms of additional weight and flying at high distances. On Saturday, Erdogan said that Egypt and Turkey were capable of jointly bringing stability to the Middle East, which has recently been rocked by a series of political crises. The Turkish PM made the comments during a speech delivered at Cairo University after meeting with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, with whom he discussed Israel\'s ongoing onslaught on the Gaza Strip in which more than 100 Palestinians have been killed to date.
