Egypt's Ambassador to Nigeria Ashraf Abdel-Qader Salama said that Egyptian-Nigerian relations will get a strong momentum very soon particularly in the wake of the meeting held between the two foreign ministers on the sidelines of the Arab-African summit in Kuwait. In statements to MENA here on Tuesday, the Egyptian diplomat said Egypt and Nigeria signed in Cairo on November 21 a memorandum of understanding to establish a political consultation mechanism. A session of talks was held after the signing of the agreement during which the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation for the best interests of the African nations as Egypt and Nigeria are the largest African countries, he added. Egypt congratulated Nigeria on obtaining a non-permanent UN Security Council seat and asserted constant coordination at the international forums, he said.
