Egyptian FM and British counterpart discuss latest developments

Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Foreign Minister, and Boris Johnson, British Foreign Secretary, discussed the latest developments in Libya and Syria during a telephone conversation on Saturday.
The Middle East News Agency, MENA, quoted a press statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry as saying that Mr. Johnson stressed Britain's keenness on coordinating with Egypt as an active player on the Arab scene, briefing him on the outcome of his latest visit to Libya.
During the call, the Egyptian Foreign Minister briefed Johnson on his assessment of the developments of the Libya file, including the outcome of the talks recently held between Fayez Al-Sarraj, Head of the Presidential Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord, and Khalifa Haftar, Commander of the Libyan Army, in Abu Dhabi.
According to the statement, Mr. Shoukry stressed Egypt's commitment to carrying on with its efforts on the regional and international scenes for a solution to the Libyan political deadlock, maintaining the north African country's territorial integrity, independence, and institutions.
On Syria, Mr. Shoukry briefed his British counterpart with his assessment of the four 'safe-zone' deal in Syria recently reached during the fourth round of Syria peace talks in Astana.
