Mohamed ElBaradei, leader of the liberal Al-Dostour party and coordinator of the National Salvation Front, called for dropping the new draft constitution in his first response to the new constitutional declaration issued by President Mohamed Morsi on Saturday. "We have broken barrier of fear. A constitution that aborts our rights and freedoms should be toppled now and not tomorrow," ElBaradei wrote on Twitter. Vice President Mahmoud Mekki said referendum on the new Constitution will take place on time despite calls by the National Salvation Front led by ElBaradei and ex-presidential hopefuls Amr Moussa and Hamdeen Sabahi to defer the vote.
