Elites contribute major Share to Iran\'s power, progress

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined the role of elites in Iran\'s progress and advancements, stressing that nations need elites to gain increasing power and immunity to foreign threats and dangers.\"If a nation wants to protect itself in this present turbulent world and prevent the military-security, soft-ware, cultural and ethical invasions of the world power centers, it needs elites whose thoughts and attention are mainly focused on the progress, glory and honor of their country and nation and faith is the most important element which can arouse this intrinsic feeling (in the elites) deeply,\" Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with large groups of Iranian elites here in Tehran on Wednesday. He further praised the Iranian elites for contributing a major share to Iran\'s progress in the last 33 years, and said, \"Despite the all-out pressures of the aliens, hundreds of renowned figures and elites in various fields, like martyr Shahriari, have dedicated themselves to noble and outstanding works and are making industrious efforts on this path.\" The leader further stated that the western powers felt no respect for Iran before the 1979 revolution, but thanks to the huge, rich efforts of the Iranian elites now everyone can see that the country has made giant progress, while much more progress is awaiting the country in future. Iran\'s renowned nuclear scientist Dr. Majid Shahriari was killed by the Israeli Mossad agents last year. On November 29, 2010, terrorists detonated bombs in the vehicles of Dr. Shahriari and Professor Fereidoon Abbasi in separate locations in Tehran. Shahriari was killed immediately but Abbasi and his wife sustained injuries. Iran\'s young scientist, Daryoush Rezayeenejad, a brilliant post graduate student in the field of Power and Electronics, was also gunned down late in July this year in the country\'s capital city of Tehran by two unknown terrorists. Evidence and documents gathered and released by the Iranian Intelligence Ministry have revealed the direct role of Mossad, CIA and MI6 in all these attacks.
