Erdogan: Syrian regime behind Reyhanli deadly blasts

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the Syrian regime of orchestrating Saturday\'s deadly bomb attacks in the southern Hatay province\'s Reyhanli town which left more than 46 people dead and over 100 injured. \"The incident is definitely related to the (Syrian) regime. The regime is behind it for sure,\" Erdogan told reporters Monday. Erdogan claimed that the Turkish authorities have reached findings and documents relevant to the incident. \"The Syrian regime of course has links in Turkey and investigations have intensified on these links.\" Ruling out the possibility of Syrian opposition involvement in the attacks, he said \"This incident has nothing to do with the opposition but some parties attempt to accuse the opposition and create an operative disguise against our Syrian brothers and sisters seeking shelter in Turkey. They are also trying to create sectarian tensions,\" Erdogan added. Erdogan also tried to ease people\'s concerns over the spread of the war in Syria to Turkey. \"We have a border line of 910 kms. We have to be very sensitive towards our neighbors but at the same time we must be very cautious. We make a step forward following our serious consultation. We won\'t fall into a trap but we won\'t avoid giving the necessary response either.\" Meanwhile, tensions dominated the Reyhanli town amid angry reaction from the locals against Syrian refugees there. Hundreds of locals took to the streets to denounce the deadly attacks while also chanting anti-Syrian refugee slogans. Turkish police were heavily deployed in the town to prevent clashes between both sides.
