Erekat: President Abbas welcomes Obama\'s speech in al-Quds

Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Saeb Erekat said that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed US President Barack Obama's speech in Al-Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) on Thursday, In statements on Friday, Erekat quoted Abbas as saying "Achieving peace and the two-State solution on the basis of the 1967 borders is the road to bring about peace for the Palestinian people." Abbas said that his meeting with Obama reflected the latter's keenness on realizing peace on the basis of the two-State solution, Erekat said. He further reiterated the commitment of the Palestinian president and the PLO to the principle of the two-State solution based on the 1967 lines.
