European Union Foreign Ministers meeting in Brussels today, Monday, will have an exchange of views with, Ahmed Moaz Al-Khatib, President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Cyprus foreign minister Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis told journalists. \"We are looking forward to this discussion, \"she said as she arrived for the meeting and noted that some EU member states have recognized the coalition but the majority of the EU states have not. \"This Coalition is representative of the Syrian people not the sole representative,\" said Kozakou-Marcoullis whose country holds the current EU Presidnecy. \"We are going to listen, ask questions and see how we can be informed more about this coalition, to see if this coalition is all inclusive and whether it can truly represent the Syrian people by including in its midst all the groups and all the different communities that exist in Syria,\" she said. She said that the situation in the Middle East will be the main issue in today\'s meeting of the EU foreign ministers, especially in the aftermath of the vote on Palestine in the UN General Assembly and the decision by Israel to construct new settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. \"I have no doubt that we will be condemning today this new announcement of Israel as illegal and violation of international law,\" she stressed. \"But the most important thing is what we are doing, what we can do to re-launch the negotiations for a comprehensive and durable solution. I think 2013 should be the year of a comprehensive solution to the Middle East issue with the creation of the state of Palestine,\" she added.
