EU High Representative Catherine Ashton on Saturday said she \"is deeply troubled by the renewed inter-communal strife in Rakhine, a state in Burma (Myanmar) and urged all parties to bring this senseless violence to an immediate end.\" \"The High Representative trusts that a peaceful and constructive way forward for all the people in Rakhine State can be found. Political and religious leaders should project a message of restraint and moderation,\" her spokesman Michael Mann said in a statement. Ashton encouraged all parties concerned to find durable ways to solve the issues between the communities and stressed the urgency of providing unhindered access for humanitarian relief. At least 112 people have been killed and thousands displaced in Buddhist-Muslim violence in western Myanmar, casting a shadow over the reformist government\'s attempts to remake the country\'s international image. People have fled their homes in droves following the latest clashes in Rakhine state, which was rocked by communal violence in June that split communities and left tens of thousands of mainly Muslim Rohingya living in camps.
