The European Union (EU) has welcomed the resumption of the National Consensus Dialogue yesterday, following a call by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, expressing hope that it will yield positive results. In a statement issued today, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton called for the need to \"refrain from inciting violence and to reject it unequivocally in all its forms\" so as to ensure a \"meaningful dialogue that is as inclusive as possible and without preconditions.\" She added that dialogue \"very much depends on constructive cooperation between the government, the opposition and all Bahraini citizens.\" She also expressed belief that dialogue is the \"best way to rebuild trust and to achieve genuine national reconciliation\" and paves the way for \"sustainable reforms.\"
