The Quartet decided, as it met on Saturday, to hold a plenary session on Sunday morning to examine the report of constitutional law experts with parties participating in the national dialogue, Deputy Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Mouldi Jendoubi pointed out. Jendoubi told the press following a plenary session of the sponsors of national dialogue, at the seat of the Human Rights and Transitional Justice Ministry, that the proposal of the expert committee pertaining to the organisation of presidential and legislative elections will be examined on the same day. Other issues relating to the chapter of transitional provisions will also be looked at. UGTT Deputy S-G pointed out, in the same vein, that the non-attendance of Ennahdha deputies "was not intentional" since they were participating in the plenary session of the NCA. For her part, Chair of the Tunisian Industry, Trade and Handicrafts Union (UTICA) Wided Bouchamaoui said PM-designate Mehdi Jomaa is "urged to put into effect the provisions of the roadmap." Jomaa is entitled to freely choose his cabinet members among independent and competent figures who cannot stand for the forthcoming elections, Bouchamaoui stated. The Quartet invited Jomaa to tell the truth to the people, UTICA Chair underlined. The year 2014 will be "difficult" at the economic level, she added. "Hurdles related to the governmental process have been smoothed out and the national dialogue is making headway regarding the constituent process thanks to the consensus reached on several items," she elaborated.
