Fatah's central committee said Saturday that political reconciliation with Hamas is a strategic choice. The remarks were made during a meeting of the committee chaired by President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday, a statement said. Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh briefed committee members about a meeting last week between Abbas and French president Nicolas Sarkozy and the latest developments concerning UNESCO and Quartet meetings. "The Central Committee welcomes the launch of the second batch of prisoners," Abu Rudeineh said, demanding that Israel release all Palestinian prisoners.
