Israeli prison doctors are subjecting hunger-striking detainees to a \"slow death\" by their medical negligence, prisoners said Tuesday. In a message to Fatah\'s committee in Gaza, prisoners said Shadi al-Rekhawi suffers from partial paralysis. Al-Rekhawi, who has been on hunger strike since April 17, was born in Rafah in southern Gaza. His family is from Yebna near Jaffa in Israel. The 27-year-old was detained in 2005 and is serving a 12 year sentence. He is being held in Ohal Kedar tent prison in Beersheva in southern Israel. Israel has banned all prisoners from Gaza from receiving family visits since 2007 despite appeals by the International Committee of the Red Cross. In a statement, Fatah\'s committee in Gaza called for a legal file to document Israeli violations against prisoners and monitor detainees\' medical conditions.
