Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (Fazl) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday warned the establishment not to create hurdles in the way of his party and set its course on the right path. Addressing “Islamabad Zindabad” conference here on Sunday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Parliament is a representative institution of the people and its decisions must be implemented in letter and spirit. He said there would be no compromise on reopening of NATO supply routes. He criticized the rulers for throwing people in the slavery of USA but vowed that the JUI(F) would not accept supremacy of the United States. He said through the power of the people and political process his party weakened the power of Sardars and Khans in the country. He said the younger generation wants a change and we have to bring the youth to a moderate path through far sighted policies. Maulana Fazlur Rahman said Pakistan has been made a rogue state and base comp for terrorists. He also criticized the defence budget saying one day’s defence budget was more than health sector budget for the whole year. He said Pakistan suffered losses of more than $ 70 billion in the US led war against terrorism. He said the state institutions must change their role and accept the political forces. He expressed the confidence that if fair and transparent elections were held, JUI(F) would emerge as a force to be reckoned with. He said that JUI-F always stopped the way of anti-Islam policies. Without mentioning the name of any institution, he said that if institutions want to save their credibility then they have to leave politics. Supremacy of the United States would never be accepted, Rehman stated. Rehman said that Pakistan was rich in resources, but there was need to utilize the resources in a proper and systematic way.
