
Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), has received Dr. Reinhold Lopatka, Chairman of the People's Party Group in the Austrian parliament.
During the meeting, Lopatka congratulated Al Qubaisi for becoming the region’s first female leader of a national assembly.
The pair discussed ways of bolstering cooperation between the two legislative assemblies.
Lopatka invited Al Qubaisi to visit the Austrian Parliament.
Al Qubaisi accepted the invitation and underlined the importance of exchanging visits between the two assemblies.
She highlighted that the FNC plays an important role in showcasing the UAE's position on regional and international developments through its parliamentary diplomacy.
Al Qubaisi also stressed that the UAE is making efforts to promote peace in the region. She said the UAE is a peace-loving country and is promoting human right to dignified life and freedom.
The speaker also noted that the UAE rejects the acts of terrorist groups because they "have nothing to do with Islam."
In this region, Al Qubabsi added, some states, are fueling sectarianism and do not want to live in peace with their neighbours.
The UAE is a role model for tolerance and coexistence of followers of different faiths.
Lopatka agreed and said terrorist and extremist groups should be eliminated to protect the peoples of the world from them.
He stressed that Austria takes great interest in strengthening relations with the UAE in all areas.
