Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi met here on Tuesday with Commander of the US Central Command James Mattis and the delegation accompanying him, who are currently visiting Cairo. They discussed the latest developments in the region and internationally in addition to reviewing a number of other issues of joint interest in light of the military cooperation between the two countries. Later Egyptian Chief of Staff Lt.Gen. Sami Annan also conferred with Mattis on topics related to bilateral military cooperation.
