The Beijing fire department said on Monday that a fire engulfed a secondhand market in northeast Beijing, but reported no casualties.
The Beijing firefighting command center received a report at 7:45 a.m. Monday from the Naixi secondhand market in the city's Chaoyang district. The market deals in secondhand furniture, books, antiques and other items.
A total of 46 fire engines were deployed to put out the fire and police cordoned off surrounding areas and diverted traffic to make way for the firefighting efforts.
The flames were put out around 9:00 a.m.
