FM: Germany joins countries supporting US position on Syria

Germany’s backdating decision is to join the countries, which supported during the G20 summit in St. Petersburg the US position on Syria, Germany’s Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said during a meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Vilnius on Saturday. Following the G20 summit, the US and other ten countries adopted a statement, where they supported the response to the major violation of the world’s norms regarding chemical weapons. The countries, which supported the US, were: Australia, the UK, Spain, Italy, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France and Japan.
