Former Pakistani information minister on Wednesday praised founder of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini for his struggle in bringing Islamic Revolution in Iran. Talking to IRNA the prominent politician and chief of Awami Muslim League, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that Islamic Revolution in Iran had changed the international opinion towards the rule of religion. “Imam Khomeini did not depend only on speeches but had proved to be a practical leader”, he added. The politician termed Islamic Revolution as a major milestone of twentieth century and added, “Imam Khomeini gave a great lesson to the Muslims all over the world,” he said. The former minister said that the teachings of Imam Khomeini will continue to inspire Muslims around the world. “There is no doubt that Imam Khomeini was a great leader, not only for Muslims but for the rest of the world,\' he opined. Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed was of the opinion that impacts of the Islamic Revolution are very deep. He said Imam Khomeini taught his nation to come out of the Western dominance. He opined that Muslims should follow Imam Khomeini\'s lofty ideas to counter the dominance of global powers. The politician said that the Iranian people despite the western propaganda have been celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the Revolution which is a great achievement. Millions of Iranians across the country have held celebrations, marking the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The ceremonies kicked off all over the country on Wednesday morning at 9:33 a.m. local time, the time when the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, returned to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on February 1, 1979 from a 14-year exile. The day of Imam Khomeini\'s return to Iran marks the start of 10 days of celebrations, which culminate on February 11 -- the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
