Lusaka - Arab Today

Four shops belonging to foreigners in Lusaka, the Zambian capital, have been looted after the owners were accused of being behind the ritual killings that have rocked the city, the police said on Monday.

The shops belonging to foreigners of Rwandan origin were looted by residents of two sprawling shanties south of the city where the macabre killings have been taking place after rumors that the foreigners were behind the killings.

Zambia Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda said the four shops were looted by the residents on suspicion that the owners were behind the killings but indicated that the police moved in and restored order in the area.

Suspected ritual killings have rocked the Zambian capital in recent weeks with seven people killed so far. The victims were found with their ears, genitals and hearts removed.

On Sunday, Zambian President Edgar Lungu revealed that four people have been arrested in connection with the brutal ritual killings.

Lungu said the four suspects were found with suspected body parts which the police have sent for forensic investigations.
