France congratulates UNESCO chief Bokova\'s on reelection

France congratulated Bulgarian Irina Bokova on her re-election as UNESCO Director General for another four-year term, the foreign ministry said on Saturday. The ministry said, in a statement, Bokova led during her first term a difficult financial and political framework policy, with courage and reform in mind that will make her complete in the second term of her program and final touches of implementation. France, which played a historic role in the establishment of UNESCO in 1945, hopes that UNESCO would be able to own all necessary capabilities to play its role in favor of peace and to promote respect of cultural diversity in the world. Last night, UNESCO Executive Board declared victory Bokova as the winner for the post after she won 39 votes while the candidate from Djibouti only got 13 votes, and Lebanese came third with six votes. Representatives of 195 countries will confirm Bokova as director general during UNESCO General Conference, due next November
