French President Nicolas Sarkozy said, on Wednesday, that France will be "vigilant" on respect of Human Rights and "democratic principles" in Tunisia, spokesperson for the French Government Valérie Pécresse reported. The French President recalled, during a Cabinet meeting, that his country "will be vigilant on respect of human rights and democratic principles, particularly cultural and religious diversity and gender equality," said Mrs. Pécresse. Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy also reminded that France and Europe have "a crucial role" to support Tunisia on the path of democracy, saying that they "will take full responsibility" in this regard.
