France warned that Syrian regime's offensive in main cities would undermine peace deal and lead to the collapse of intra-Syrian negotiation to prepare for a democratic transition in Damascus, a government official said on Tuesday.
"France.... warns that the impact of the regime and its allies' offensives around Aleppo and Eastern Ghouta are a threat to the cessation of hostilities," Romain Nadal, the ministry's spokesman said in a daily briefing.
"The Syrian regime and its allies will be responsible for a new humanitarian crisis and the failure of intra-Syrian negotiations," he added.
Nadal expressed concerns about the violence's restart in the last few days between forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and rebel groups ahead a second round of peace talks on Wednesday in Geneva.
