French Interior Minsiter Manuel Valls on Tuesday played down terrorist threats that could target the country\'s rail system as media has reported attack plans by terrorists on Europe\'s high-speed trains. \"We have no evidence that confirms these threats. Even if we knew these rumors several weeks ago and we took some precaution measures, they did not concerned directly France,\" the minister told BFMTV news channel in an interview. \"We did not have any evidence that may lead us to believe that there are real threats to our country. But let\'s be clear, there is a terrorist menace since several months ...\" he added. On Monday, Bild, a German newspapaer reported Al Qaeda was planning attacks on high-speed trains in Europe via acts of sabotage on rail infrastructure or bombings onboard trains. France\'s interests and expatriates have been the target of terror groups that threatened to strike them in retaliation for Paris military intervention in Mali, earlier this year, to help fighting against Islamist rebels that seized the country\'s northern zones. A major terrorist bomb attack on Paris subway in 1995 killed eight people and injuring 200 others.
