France welcomes Israel-Gaza ceasefire

French President Francois Hollande welcomed the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire truce between Israel and Hamas coming into effect. He called on Israel and Hamas to abide by the truce to avoid any more hostilities among them, lauding Egypt’s efforts to negotiate the truce. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Francois Hollande, recommended a next round of negotiations to reach a two-state solution allowing both sides to live side-by-side in peace and security.
