Troops of the opposition Free Syrian Army have taken over a base of the regime "Brigade 80" located close to Aleppo International Airport, the FSA said on Friday. Government forces retaliated for the assault with artillery barrages targeting positions of the attacking fighters, in a bid to repulse the FSA troops, retake the garrison and storm positions of the Free Army via the south-eastern routes of the northern Aleppo city. Due to the bombardment by the regime artillerymen, six people, including two children, died and many others suffered injuries. Local authorities called for blood donations for the wounded. In the city ancient sector, FSA gunners targeted the regime troops' positions with mortars. Shells and locally-fabricated rockets were also directed at the nearby airport. The opposition army said up to 43 people were killed in today's fighting and military action in various regions of Syria.
