Future Bloc: For holding parliamentary elections on set date

\"Future\" Bloc underlined the importance of focusing efforts on holding forthcoming parliamentary elections on schedule, without any delay or procrastination. \"Future\" Bloc\'s fresh stance came in the wake of its regular weekly meeting on Tuesday afternoon at \"Beit al-Wasat\", presided over by Bloc head Fouad Siniora. Talks reportedly dwelt on the general situation in the country. \"Upcoming parliamentary elections constitute a decisive, crucial deadline for the renewal of the Lebanese democratic system,\" Bloc said. On the resignation of Mikati-led cabinet, the Bloc considered that such a resignation begot a climate of satisfaction among the Lebanese, in addition to opening positive horizons for the formation of a new government that heeds attention to casting Lebanon away from political, sectarian and confessional mobilization. The Bloc called for the formation of a government comprising of ministers who are not running for upcoming parliamentary elections, with Baabda Declaration outlining its ministerial statement and work mechanism. The Bloc also braced the formation of a government that upholds dissociation policy without selectivity, to spare Lebanon the serious repercussions of regional incidents, especially in Syria, and prepare conducive climate for the resumption of national dialogue. The Bloc underscored the necessity that the novel government centers its attention on preparing a poll law that secures true, fair representation and free choice based on national coexistence, constitution and accord. The Bloc also emphasized the importance of holding binding parliamentary consultations on schedule, in compliance of Constitution, democratic norms and dates set by the President of the Republic.
