
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani Wednesday strongly condemned a recent call by Egypt's Judges Club Chief Ahmad Al-Zind for Egyptian Army to send troops to Qatar to arrest Doha-based Egyptian political activists. In a press statement, Al-Zayani described Al-Zind's threats as "unacceptable offense against a country that stood and is still standing beside Egypt and its people." He went on stay that this is an offense against Qatar which has historic and strong relations with Egyptian people at all levels. Al-Zayani stressed that the GCC denounces such threats and instigating calls and reconfirm that the relations with Egypt and its people are historic and deeply-rooted.
