GCC condemns Syrian regime for killing its people and destroying cities

Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), has condemned the persistence of the Syrian regime in using brutal methods to continue killing its people and destroying Syrian cities, regardless of both humanitarian and ethical principles and provisions of International Humanitarian Law. Dr. Al-Zayani said that the continuation of the Syrian regime forces in their use of aircraft and helicopters to deliver explosive shells and other means of killing and destruction to the defenceless civilian population in Syrian cities demonstrates the cruelty of the Syrian regime against its people. Al-Zayani denounced the silence of the international community on the continuation of these brutal crimes committed against the Syrian people, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to put an end to the continued bloodshed and provide protection for Syrian civilians, as well as the urgently required delivery of humanitarian aid.
