Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili calls for using all formats to maintain a dialogue with Russia. Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Ivanishvili said: “Georgia will talk with Russia without any whims and within any format.” “Relations, which exist between the two countries for centuries, should be restored. We should find formats and ways,” Ivanishvili said. He pointed to the importance of the Geneva talks. “This format will be preserved,” the premier said. Ivanishvili said, “I value strive for improving relations with Russia.” “At present, the Georgian authorities have achieved progress and the situation is better now. I value this situation very much. I’ll do my best to improve relations with Russia,” he said. The Geneva discussions on security in the South Caucasus are being held since October 2008 under the auspices of the EU, the U.N. and the OSCE with the participation of the delegations of Georgia, Russia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
