A unique trio, comprising Peter Feldmann, Lord Mayor of Frankfurt am Main, Dubai’s twin city, Hans-Joachim Watzke, the CEO of the German Bundesliga football club, Borussia Dortmund, and Axel Hellmann, Member of the Board of the German Bundesliga football club Eintracht Frankfurt, have sent gifts to children at the Children of Senses residential and day care centre for special needs in Dubai.
Mr. Feldmann sent toys about Frankfurt am Main so the children could get to know the city, while Mr. Watzke and Mr. Hellman gifted special footballs of their Bundesliga teams.
Dr. Andreas Gulya handed over the gifts to the children organised by the German VIP’s yesterday during a visit to the centre. Gulya is the president of the first official Eintracht Frankfurt football fan club on three continents, the EFC Bembel Beduinen. He is also assisting Frankfurt’s Lord Mayor in the twin relationship between Frankfurt am Main and Dubai.
For this project, Dr. Gulya received phenomenal help from the Lions Club of Trivandrum Oasis. The Charter President Lion, Sasikumar R. Nair MJF, aided in completion of this unique initiative. Mr. Nair and his team are well known in the region and have a special relationship with the Children of Senses residential and day care centre for special needs.
Dr. Gulyar said that without the commitment of the Lions, the project between the EFC Bembel Beduinen and the Lions would not have been such a success.
Both organisation are dedicated to helping children to improve their lives. In this project, which is the first of many to come, they will know more about Germany and about the twin cities of Dubai and Frankfurt am Main.
