Germany interior ministry finds questioning of Snowden in Moscow possible

The German Interior Ministry finds the questioning of fugitive CIA contractor Edward Snowden in Moscow possible as a witness over the scandal around electronic spying, spokesman of the German Interior Ministry Jens Teschke said here on Monday. “If a committee (parliamentary) is formed for the investigation (over the details of electronic surveillance), certainly some questions will be asked to Snowden in Russia,” he noted. Meanwhile, the German government still rejects possible granting of asylum to the fugitive contractor of the U.S. security services in Germany. This issue was studied back in July 2013 and there are no prerequisites for receiving Snowden yet, spokesman of the German Cabinet Steffen Seibert noted. He noted “enormous importance” of transatlantic ties and noted that the German government is guided by the idea to conclude an anti-spying agreement with the United States at ongoing talks.
