
Kuwait has always supported the culture of peace, understanding, and dialogue amongst world nations, said a Kuwaiti diplomat here late Wednesday. Speaking at the 68th UN General Assembly's meeting on the culture of peace, Diplomatic attache at the permanent Kuwaiti delegation to the UN Farah Gharabally said that Kuwaiti society always welcomed dialogue and understanding amongst people, adding that Kuwait's constitution made clear that human rights and freedom of expression were protected. Kuwait is keen on supporting UN efforts to protect human rights and peace worldwide, said Al-Gharabally who noted that her country took the initiative to join the UN Alliance of Civilizations' (UNAOC) as a gesture of support. She also said that Kuwait established the world center for moderation in an effort to spread peace and harmony. Al-Gharabally thanked all states who took part in the UN meeting, saying that their efforts were important to bolster the culture of peace on a global scale.
