Greece\'s new prime minister is expected to be released from hospital later in the day, after undergoing eye surgery over the weekend that will prevent him from traveling to a critical European Union summit in Brussels this week. Prime Minister Antonis Samaras was recovering from an operation to repair a detached retina, and was expected to leave hospital Monday afternoon. He has appointed Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos to lead the Greek delegation at the June 28-29 summit. Avramopoulos met Monday morning with outgoing Finance Minister Giorgos Zanias, Development Minister Costis Hatzidakis and others who will accompany him to Brussels.
