A Palestinian Islamic Resistance Hamas Movement senior official Salah al-Bardaweel said that Hamas would never be a threat to Jordan\'s political and security interests. \"Hamas can play its political and national role without jeopardizing Jordanian interests, but rather working towards common interests,\" al-Bardaweel told Jordanian daily Al-Ghad (Tomorrow) as he commented on official Jordanian statements that Hamas officials could live in Jordan with their families provided that they don\'t practice any political role. \"It\'s not about housing, for Hamas leaders can find a place anywhere in the world, but they are keen on being coherent to the Palestinian issue be living in Jordan,\" al-Bardaweel said. \"Jordan has excellent ties with the Palestinian people and the Palestinian issue, and has direct influence on the issue. Hamas is against resettlement and solving the Palestinian issue at the expense of Jordan,\" al-Bardaweel added. For his part, Jordanian Prime Minister Awn Al-Khasawneh said recently that Jordan was considering to allow Hamas officials and their families to live in Jordan without establishing a political bureau or practicing political activities of any sort.
